Commercial Solar Panels for Office Buildings

Commercial solar panels for office buildings help cut daytime electricity use, reduce carbon emissions and support ESG targets using the roof space you already have. A well-designed office rooftop solar system generates clean power during working hours, lowering reliance on grid electricity and improving long-term cost predictability.

CASE STUDIES:

Office Building!

The office buildings we’ve helped all faced the same challenge: rising electricity costs putting pressure on operating budgets. By designing solar PV systems around their typical occupancy and daytime load, we’ve helped them cut grid usage during working hours, stabilise part of their energy spend and keep more money available for the rest of the business.

Our Office Building Solar PV install process

Site survey and structural checks

We carry out a detailed site survey of your office building, reviewing roofs, plant areas and any roof terraces. Using plans and satellite imagery, we assess shading, roof condition and access, and consider existing rooftop plant such as chillers, AHUs and lift overruns. We’ll also take measurements so we have everything we need to build an accurate office-specific demo.

Design and yield modelling

We design your solar PV system around your actual office load profile and occupancy pattern. Using half-hourly data where available, we model how the system would perform on your building, including indicative payback period, expected annual generation and how much daytime grid demand it could offset during typical working hours.

Installation with minimal disruption to operations

Once you’re happy with the design, we agree an installation schedule that fits around office hours and key dates. Work is planned to minimise disruption to tenants and staff, with noisy or intrusive activities scheduled for agreed times. We co-ordinate with your building management team so the building can stay open and safe while the system is installed.

Monitoring, maintenance, performance checks

After commissioning, you’ll have access to online monitoring so you can see how your office building’s solar PV system is performing in real time. We’ll discuss maintenance options and provide regular performance checks, helping ensure the system continues to support your energy, ESG and cost-reduction targets over the long term.

We'll Gather Your
Qualifying Solar Spend & Dates

We’ll prepare a detailed breakdown of every solar asset you’ve acquired—panels, inverters, batteries, mounting gear—along with each item’s contract date or payment‑due date, so you know exactly what qualifies under AIA.

01.

Calculating
Your AIA Claim

Ensure your total qualifying expenditure stays within the prorated £1 million cap for the accounting period. Any spend above the limit should be split into writing-down allowances, and only the business proportion of partly business-related items should be claimed.

02.

Include Your AIA
Figures in Your Tax Return

On your annual company tax return (CT600) or self‑assessment (SA100) enter your total qualifying expenditure within the prorated £1 million cap for the accounting period. Any spend above the limit should be split into writing-down allowances, and only the business proportion of partly business-related items should be claimed.
